I have been working at Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Interesting, challenging, and rewarding work that positively impacts society; positive and respectful work environment; very strong human capital and talent; excellent balance among work, life, family, health, and professional pursuits; good total compensation package; opportunities to work on a lot of 'side' projects and in different areas; and a small-company feel.

    Cons

Very limited career opportunities and growth potential (flat organization); little-to-no focused employee development programs; mediocre manager selections with mixed results; depending on position, a lot of travel; basic business and strategic planning feels lost sometimes.

    Former Intern - Student Employee

I worked at Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) for less than a year

    Pros

Working at EPRI was a very positive experience. The employees were very kind and knowledgable, with a very relaxed yet productive work environment. They were a very safety oriented company.

    Cons

Work in the power industry is often slow moving. This is not so much the fault of EPRI, but the industry in general.

I worked at Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI)

    Pros

Great work environment, friendly staff, flexible working hours, committed to helping students succeed in school while managing a valuable work experience.

    Cons

Work can be menial at times, but that should be expected at an intern position though. Location is on the West side of town which is far from most students.
