    Pros

Steady job and many learning opportunities.

    Cons

Saw several managers overworked and replaced like going thru a meat grinder.
Too much attention on so called Leadership training while maintaining an artificial focus on employees by mid-to-upper management. Slow decision making process.

    Advice to Management

    Get real.

I worked at Electronic Data Systems full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

My first big job that I ever had until I had a medical issue. Once I was through with the medical issue I was put on a project which completed successfully.

    Cons

As soon as I was back with my group after the project I got laid off! I was training a minority and she kept her job. Along with another minority kept his job. My boss and I got laid off!

I worked at Electronic Data Systems full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The salary is competitive, benefits are reasonable. The call center does allow for flexible schedules such as four 10 hour days.

    Cons

The management of the call center was terrible - you were always presumed to be at fault if anything happened and everyone was always afraid that you would be laid off. It wasn't a pleasant atmosphere to work in always afraid for your job.

    Advice to Management

Coaching should always be balanced with recognition of when someone does something good as well as being more proactive in creating a good working relationship with the employees. No one should ever fear for their job for one mistake.

In the early years, EDS was a great place to work.

    Cons

Things started to go south when the company was spu off from GM. Local management was awful.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees. Take care of your employees.

    Pros

Good place for getting training for new skill set

    Cons

Compensation for your skill set is inadequate

    Advice to Management

Be open to employees regarding how much of bonus is allocated to each business group, employees on the floor usually hear of bonuses but they do not actually get any.

    Pros

You had a flexible work schedule and the environment was clean to work in. There was also an onsight cafeteria which is definitely a plus.

    Cons

Management seemed clueless at times as to the actual job you were doing. It was amazing that these people were going to evaluate your performance and yet had no experience as to the job you were doing. SIMPLY AMAZING!!!

    Advice to Management

The lack of communication was definitely a big problem. Also, there seemed to be a lack of standardization for processing procedures. There needs to be a training program other than on the job training fly by the seat of your pants training.
