I have been working at Electronic Transaction Consultants full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Having been with ETCC for 3.5 years, I've seen a large transition from worst to better. If I wrote this review a year ago, my score would not be high. The aftermath of this huge transition has me believing that I personally will be sticking around for a while. Unlike before, career opportunities are starting to blossom. Unlike before, there is a better work/life balance. Unlike before, my trust in leadership has...

    Cons

Occasional butting of heads with other employees.

    Advice to Management

Only because this was a problem in the past, value the good apples and reward them via promotion or recognition. Keep your key players happy. I feel we've lost great resources in the past.

I have been working at Electronic Transaction Consultants full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

The best things about this company are the talent and teamwork. The nature of this business requires learning how to problem solving and acquire new job-specific skills. Working at this company will make you better. It is a challenging, but rewarding industry and environment. Also, there has been a revamp in leadership, which has improved many of the past problems. Morale is improving, with more benefits and rewards...

    Cons

This company still struggles with poor communication; not only in providing information (which is awful) but also simple things you learn in kindergarten like speaking kindly and respectfully to each other. There is also a lack of results-focus. Top leadership will allow their deadlines to fly right by, however, will publicly shame subordinates for similar actions. There is no accountability.

    Advice to Management

Improve these areas and this company will soar: communication, accountability on for all levels, improve customer-focus, and encourage or promote better personal judgment.

I have been working at Electronic Transaction Consultants full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Relatively small (approximately 500), but growing. A great and updated product lineup, with some very interesting technology. Friendly people, including senior management. Good compensation and benefits. Great HR.

    Cons

A little heavy on process sometimes, but getting better.

    Advice to Management

Look for areas where you may further simplify and streamline process.

I worked at Electronic Transaction Consultants full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Business casual dress code, lots of free snacks as they try to distract you from the neo-capitalist dystopian hellscape.

    Cons

Always understaffed, poor pay for the work, mgmt is always looking for ways to cut costs instead of actually make things work. Hardware and software is constantly crashing and most equipment is outdated, changes in policy are frequently communicated like gossip via word of mouth instead of actual announcements, and mgmt is SO focused on keeping costs down that they wait until the last possible minute to replace critical...

I have been working at Electronic Transaction Consultants full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Good opportunity to work with the public, wide range of callers sharing their thoughts about current issues.

    Cons

Tough to make everyone happy, and the management were extremely unresponsive to suggestions on improvements. Massive turnover of employees seems to suggest serious flaws.

I worked at Electronic Transaction Consultants full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Management gets it. The customers are crazy, and managment will back you up. Work life balance exists and they won't ding you for being human on attendance.

    Cons

The work is repetitive, uninteresting and very little learned as skills is applicable outside work. You can only feel for the same excuses so long. The calls need to be 5 minutes on average, and it is a rather dead end job. Few people advance. Because they work with WSDOT they drug test, including marijuana, which is legal on Washington. They had us answer calls even with equipment not working, and news crews came in...

    Advice to Management

Invest in your workers, always. Trust them. And don't be petty on things for call reports. Good customer service is about connecting, which takes listening, not about if you call someone by name.
