I have been working at Element Fleet Management full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Significant investment to modernize systems and processes. Supportive and engaged leadership team. Vision to transform the industry with a focus on data/ analytics and technology. Teams genuinely collaborate and care about each other.

    Cons

Consecutive integrations have been stressful, but it's gotten the company to a scale where they can invest in technology, partnerships and people. Culture is still forming, as several companies have come together. Some long-timers are finding the transition difficult.

    Cons

Senior Management in Not strong she next level even weaker. Lots of wasted time talking about things that should just get done

    Advice to Management

Time for some significant changes DVD more differentiation between those delivering and those not

I worked at Element Fleet Management full-time

    Pros

Location is convenient and decent benefits.

    Cons

Accounting department has major issues. The systems are old and convoluted due to company not investing in infrastructure. You won't build value by spending time there because nobody uses, or has heard of, the financial systems that are being used. Also, I felt like the management was two-faced and that one Senior Accountant in particular (who isn't going anywhere anytime soon) was out to get me from the moment I started. This person has scared off multiple people and will be promoted to management, so beware. Also, the management leads through fear, not by example. In addition, half of the meetings could have been emails.

    Advice to Management

Resign and pass the keys to someone who knows how to drive. Company is driving itself into a ditch.

I worked at Element Fleet Management full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Beautiful facilities, logistically friendly location that is easily and conveniently accessible to the entire MSP/surrounding area.
From a "boots on the ground" standpoint: A seasoned, and dedicated employee base ( MANY with 20++years ). Unmatched industry knowledge/subject matter expertise in nearly ALL areas.

    Cons

Sadly, the GE culture was already diluted/changing when I separated with the company that I loved and spent 2 decades with. Top talent migrated away to other GE business units, creating leadership voids that were filled, in many cases, with individuals who were clearly promoted beyond their ability, and/or usefulness.
The once profitable, and former "crown jewel" of the GE Capitol organization, was not just loosing it's effective operational leadership, but its focus, direction, and most importantly its customers to competitors who were once 1/2 it's size

    Advice to Management

Hard to give advice to the "smartest people in the room".
Remember when GE was going to buy PHH?
How do you take the largest fleet leasing organization in North America, and neuter it to the point where even your smaller competitors are eating your lunch on a regular basis?
Integration is a great time to RESET!
Get back to basics. Be consistent, and with regard to commitments; Stop waxing eloquently, talking in circles, and actually DO what you say you're going to do (with regard to both external AND internal customer).

I have been working at Element Fleet Management full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Telecommuting cafeteria and location. There are no more pro but need 20 words for the post to be published so rambling on.

    Cons

No communication within departments or senior level management. Don't care what the tenured employees think. Not valued. They think the culture is improving. Don't know what company they are working for.

    Advice to Management

Communicate. Communicate. Communicate. Jammer and Bravo is not improving the culture. It's just a social media with self gratification attached. Tired of the rah rah stuff. Get a grip.

I worked at Element Fleet Management full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Was a great place to be 2 years ago. Great location. Culture at GE made this a great place, but new culture is really bad. Pizzas for lunch are good.

    Cons

This place is imploding and employees are jumping ship. Middle management is only concerned about their personal brand, they could care or less about their employees. Senior management is completely out of touch with reality.

    Advice to Management

Tell the customers the truth. Stop using buzz words, people see right through it.
