    Continuing to Plummet

    Dec 1, 2022 - Anonymous/Employee

    Pros

There is an ice cream vending machine

    Cons

The company focuses on one thing and one thing only - the bottom line. All companies are expected to provide back to their shareholders which is understandable but this company will do It by any means possible including slicing their support structure in half. The work culture is incredibly toxic. They preach resolution for customers but unless you have a direct phone line to an executive or know the one person with knowledge who hasn’t turned over in each department, you will never see that done. Critical work is worked FIFO rather than mastering the key offerings that make up an FMC and the answer to stressed employees is for the employee to better self manage their own expectations of themselves. Employees are placated with temporary resolutions that don’t ever manifest in long term impact.

Avoid this place like the plague

    Jul 11, 2022 - Anonymous Employee

    Pros

Vacation benefits & salary were excellent after you reach 15 years of service. Remote work option was fantastic. Not much else.

    Cons

Company is trying to offshore operations for lower cost labor. Longtime employees from the PH&H & GE businesses are leaving. Middle management from the director level and up are clueless and demoralizing toward their employees. This used to be a terrific company to work for. Now all it’s about is the bottom line. Sure they brag about keeping the employee interest at the forefront. Don’t let these people fool you. If you don’t have your nose buried up a director or VP’s backside 24x7 forget about ever advancing. They like to promote buddies who are seriously inept and have no business being in these positions. Zero accountability from the VP down and they are covering themselves with inflated numbers to keep the execs happy. If anyone tries to sell you otherwise, they are flat out lieing. The business is hedging their bets on a program that was proven to be problematic and is causing clients to question why they are still using Element. Again it’s all about the bottom line, but what do I know with almost 3 decades experience with the company?

Not currently a good place to work.

Aug 2, 2022 - FPS Partner (Client Relationship Manager) in Hopkins, MN

    Business Outlook

    Pros

The benefits are great and the holiday and vacation days are generous.

    Cons

If you work for Element, you can expect to do the job of 2-3 people, especially in customer-facing positions. This is not an exaggeration. There is currently a great deal of turnover, which leads to additional workload and new people who simply aren't up to speed, which also creates more workload. There are also supply chain issues in the industry beyond Element's control that drastically affect employees and customers. I can't over emphasize the stress of working here. You will not have work-life balance, so know that going in. Even though the company offers ample time off, there aren't enough people to cover vacations so you can expect to come back to angry customers and more work than you can ever catch up on. Most people work during their time off. The company over-promises what can realistically be delivered with current staffing levels and technology.

Lots to like, but not the best

    Nov 9, 2021 - Maintenance
    Recommend

    Business Outlook

    Pros

The company offers benefits within one month or less of the start date. Plenty of opportunities to move up or move around. Depending on your manager you may have someone who really cares for you and wants you to succeed. Overtime is available to those who want to work. Time off that is offered is standard for the industry. And depending on your position, you may be able to work 100% remotely.

    Cons

The workforce could use more training to be more efficient. The health insurance price could be a bit more affordable for what your deductible and out of pocket maximum is. Compensation is average for the industry, but for a company that wants to be the best and be a step above, could reward its top performers with extra incentives.
