I worked at Elements Massage part-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

They will keep you busy. This is the best place to gain experience in the field because they provide a perfect balance between number of treatments and employee benefits (e.g assistance with insurance renewals, complementary treatments, CEUs...)

    Cons

You may need to move fast between sessions to maintain client appointment schedules

    Advice to Management

Do not require employees to wear black. This color absorbs too much energy which is not conducive to the employee's health in a treatment room. Also, uniforms should not be polyester--these plastic fibers are wreaking havoc on our bodies and the Earth.

I have been working at Elements Massage full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Amazing management - flexible, accommodating. Schedule is usually flexible. Easy job, healing and relaxing environment. Nice coworkers.

    Cons

The job itself isn't maintainable for long term - it's draining and becomes boring and robotic. But its great for young people, a temp job for anyone in between jobs/major life changes. Or anyone that loves customer service and wants to be in a customer service position for the rest of their lives. As usual in customer service jobs, underpaid for all that the position has to handle - customers, therapists, management...

I have been working at Elements Massage full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

Where do I start! I have been working for Elements for two years this June. I can say that it's the best place I have ever worked in. My fellow MT are one of a kind and are my work family. Our manager Lauren is absolutely awesome and really wants the best for everyone of her MT's. She goes out of her way to put us first, I appreciate her to the moon and back! Our leader Janice, is absolutely the best. This...

    Cons

Some minor issues but, not at all concerning or negative. I can think of a couple of things. 1. Need more help on Saturday nights as we get bpoked a lot. 2. We need a lotion/oil warmer Those are the only things I can really think about at the time. We keep improving and I'm sure we will be one of the many to rise to the stars.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work, and stay awesome!

I have been working at Elements Massage full-time for more than 2 years

      Pros

I started at Elements in March of 2018 as a full-time front desk receptionist and have worked my way up to the assistant manager position. I love my job because our members become our acquaintances and our staff become our family. Everyone that works here is extremely supportive and helpful; management tries their best to make the workplace as comfortable as possible and keep all of their employees happy. Of course, there...

I worked at Elements Massage full-time for more than a year

      Pros

Flexible schedule. They worked with my schedule.

      Cons

Discrimination in the workplace. One of my co-workers made several comments in regards to my culture that were inappropriate. One of them being "well this is America" when I was speaking in Spanish. When I reported it to management they did not take it seriously. Later on, she made additional comments about my culture that made me feel uncomfortable. I didn't let management know of the second time because by that time...

      Advice to Management

Train staff on professional etiquette between co-workers and clients. When I was there many times the front desk and management would talk about personal or about other staff members in front of clients. Listen to employees when they come to you for support in dealing with issues between co-workers. When issues are not taken care of it creates a toxic environment for everyone. Include the front desk when changes...

I worked at Elements Massage part-time for more than 2 years

      Pros

-A lot of down time during mornings/weekdays, making it a great position for students -Free monthly massages - Some fantastic clients - 10 dollar bonus for every member enrolled for the wellness program

      Cons

-HIPAA not respected by massage therapists, so they would often gossip/chat about their difficult clients, making it a not very professional environment -Management at my location was extremely flakey - sometimes they'd be viewing the security cameras from home, sometimes we're having a mid-level studio crisis and we would be expected to take care of it -Company practices constantly shifting, and no clear-cut training,...

      Advice to Management

To corporate - unrealistic enrollment expectations need to be reevaluated. To my studio in specific - get a new owner.

I worked at Elements Massage part-time for more than 2 years

      Pros

I LOVED the relaxing atmosphere, the people I worked with, and our ability to be somewhat creative with specials and holiday events. My location was a surprisingly functional mix of corporate rule and franchise freedom.

      Cons

Sometimes corporate changed the rules many times over a short period, or were foggy about how these changes should be implemented.
