I worked at Elements Massage part-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

-A lot of down time during mornings/weekdays, making it a great position for students -Free monthly massages - Some fantastic clients - 10 dollar bonus for every member enrolled for the wellness program

    Cons

-HIPAA not respected by massage therapists, so they would often gossip/chat about their difficult clients, making it a not very professional environment -Management at my location was extremely flakey - sometimes they'd be viewing the security cameras from home, sometimes we're having a mid-level studio crisis and we would be expected to take care of it -Company practices constantly shifting, and no clear-cut training,...

    Advice to Management

To corporate - unrealistic enrollment expectations need to be reevaluated. To my studio in specific - get a new owner.

    Pros

Free monthly massages. Like the title says, if you like high pressure sales and that's a passion of your, this is it.

    Cons

If you can't maintain at least 20-30% conversion rate your out the door. Training is odd and your expected to jump in running.

I worked at Elements Massage part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Free Monthly Massage. A lot of available hours to pick up to make more money. Sales Bonuses Each Month. They will train you. Pretty much your: checking clients in for there massage and out. You’re ask them if they would like to join the free to join free to cancel membership that has no contract. Scheduling appointments and answering the phone. And little task like calling clients, making sure things are clean...

    Cons

At the beginning it feels overwhelimg learning the system. And the way to talk over the phone and sale memberships *But when you catch on it becomes second nature and very easy to use. The only way to grow and work up is your own personal sales so you have to be very focused and driven with each new client. You have to be a sales person or you won’t be happy there to make ends meet. They pay a pretty good hourly rate...

    Advice to Management

I honestly believe my manager was over worked. She did everything. She always had a smile though and she was extremely encouraging. I just wish they could pay more. Anyways I still think about that job and I am so thankful for all the training and what I learned when working there.

I worked at Elements Massage part-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

Steady Job Free monthly massages Slight room for growth.

    Cons

Too much work and not enough pay. They basically want a salesperson, a receptionist a cleaning lady (like they want you to sweep and mop and vacuum and clean bathrooms and lunchroom and all massage rooms), and a sales and marketing person all in one for $16. It's not worth the money. They want you to maintain a sales quota while doing EVERYTHING ELSE.

    Advice to Management

Hire a cleaning lady and have different jobs with clearly defined roles and not have one person doing everything. And stop being so pushy and greedy. Lecherous belittling and annoying.

I have been working at Elements Massage full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

Health, Dental, and Accident Insurance. Free monthly massage. One week paid vacation. Clean work environment. Commissions and Bonuses. Team-oriented. Understanding, flexible, and kind Management. Ability to move up quickly.

    Cons

Tricky customer service situations. Somewhat complicated amount of different programs needed to perform job duties. Small company that can be understaffed.

    Advice to Management

This is overall a really great company to work for. The pay, benefits, and positive energy make it a place that really feels good to come to every day. Just keep working on improving those communication skills.

I have been working at Elements Massage full-time for more than 4 years

    Pros

MASSAGE THERAPIST PROS: ---background: the franchise was founded by a massage therapist, who said her goal was provide a place where her friends liked coming to work. It was basically an antidote to the massage franchises and drive-through day spas that all popped up in the late '90s/early 2000s. All of the values and missions of the company are, as far as I can tell, the exact same as they were when she founded started...

    Cons

-It's hard to find suitable sales staff because people keep mistaking it for a reception job or like a clerk job. It's a job for people who like people. If you think you're just going to answer phones or sit at a desk or ring people out, it's not that kind of job. --if you've only worked private, it can be hard to adapt to a corporate franchise, so it definitely should be made clear to therapists that there are a...

    Advice to Management

Our location does a good job with managing the staff but I have felt there were times when mgmt. could have elaborated a little more on certain details and protocols, like crafting it more toward whatever type of person you're hiring. For example, some therapists who have been doing private work for a long time do have trouble adapting to a more professional environment with set hands on time and conduct with clients...

I have been working at Elements Massage part-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

Free monthly massages and member benefits, awesome therapists to work with and 1 front desk associate.

    Cons

Bad management, lack of communication and miscommunication from management. Always talk down to you, no appreciation from them at all. You can never get a hold of them, the manager only works 9 hours a week and doesn’t take care of client issues.

    Advice to Management

Instead of having the staff do communication exercises, management should be doing them. Manager should be at the studio more often taking care of client issues. Take some management classes to better understand how a business is run.
