Pros
First chance at remote work. Extensive training Decent benefits Fitness center or reimbursement for a fitness center educational reimbursements free food days advancement opportunities wonderful sweet management
Cons
No one really knows the answers to things. If you ask about education reimbursements they can send you a link but if you ask specific questions I have yet to find someone to answer them. They don't seem to have accommodations when it comes to people working at home needing modifications such as ergonomical chairs, standing desks. Training can be very long and drawn out if you know what you are doing and are tech savvy be prepared to spend a lot of time waiting on other people. You are told all the way through training and on the job training how this is all a family and that you will know these people for life. I get that people are busy and that they are working but I have written people I was in training with that said write me after training if you have questions and not received a response from weeks later. They could definitely streamline the 100 different programs they use into a drop down service to make answering question easier and more efficient. They talk a lot about advancement, but don't really give you much direction on how to do that.

Pros
I used to think there were a lot but not the company is just another corporation that doesn't care what happens to their employees or how they feel.
Cons
What a mess, we barely have time to think and the one thing that made employees content was the ability to work from home. Now, with 6-weeks' notice, and right before winter hits, we are being called back into the office with some ridiculous excuse of how it will help collaboration and innovation. NO, IT WON'T. Most teams are diversified across the US. It will drag morale down, increase mental health issues, and force others to look elsewhere for a job. Why don't employers get this? Working from home makes us better workers! The ability not to have 5 people surrounding your desk carrying on useless conversations, the ability to have a private meeting without fighting over background noise, the ability to actually walk away from your desk and step out to get fresh air for 10 minutes because well, you need it, the ability to actually work, even if I am not feeling the best, in my home office where I would normally use PTO. So now, we are supposed to not only schedule a workstation each day that we are in the office but also drag everything we need for the day and bring it into the office. This is ridiculous. Great Idea, Elevance. Continue to watch as more and more people leave the company.

Pros
I think this company is one of the best so far. I am just starting and it seems awesome. It is a lot to learn but they have some of the best trainers teaching you. I just wish OJT was a tad bit longer however it does not take away from the job one bit. Just hope to be here until I retire ❤️
Cons
None that I have seen yet, I am still in training.

Pros
The company stresses taking care of yourself and provides lots of benefits to that end, including a gym reimbursement and access to health programs and partnerships. There are lots of opportunities to volunteer and contribute to local and national communities. The work is engaging and challenging, and there is lots of room for growth. The culture is great and there are many kind and exemplary colleagues to work with. The compensation is excellent.
Cons
Many of the products the company works on are for internal use and therefore subject to strong internal politics. There is sometimes duplication of work, and much time is spent figuring out who should do the work rather than getting it done. Projects come and go like wildfire, and resources are sometimes shifted around like pawns. It's not uncommon to work on a project for some time, even reaching one or more milestones of completion, and then see the project be discarded for the next new and shiny initiative. The C-suite values the end consumer, and rightly so, but these values are somehow not propagated down through mid-level management.

Pros
Decent starting wages if you are newer to the field or don't have a family. However- if you do- ask fo more money. There are annual increases but I haven't been here long enough to get one yet.
Cons
Pay is low for the work and energy required.

Pros
It's not as bad as it seems
Cons
The sign on bonus, the training was great and then you are released on your own. Either sink or swim.

Pros
The culture is amazing, the people I work with have been incredibly supportive and the flexibility of the job allows me to spend more time with my family.
Cons
I don't have any glaring cons for this role. The expectations are laid out upfront and you are expected to meet them.

Pros
Most individual mid-level managers are fair, or at least have good intentions. Upper-level management puts them in impossible positions in terms of salary and raises, but my direct bosses do their best to keep their best talent.
Cons
The company is on a hiring freeze and management will be laying off at least 20% of its workforce by the end of 2023. (This is public information and easily found on multiple websites.) Some of the jobs will be eliminated entirely; most of them will be offshored to India. The company is has been making record profits and is publicly blaming these firings on a hypothetical future recession. This, of course, is spin; the actual cause is rampant greedflation. There is currently little chance to obtain a solid position during the hiring freeze, but desperate managers will eventually scramble to fill the gaps that are left by overseas employees, whose work is cheap but generally low-quality. In short, if you accept a role at Elevance, you'll be working long hours with no job security. I've been with Elevance/Anthem since 2009 and am currently racing to leave. Stay away from this company at all costs.
