Disgruntled furloughed staff don’t know or understand
Dec 8, 2022 - Team Leader in Fort Worth, TXRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Executive and leadership team truly cares about customer base and people - economy just did a whammy on things this year. Great mission and opportunity.
Cons
Undervalued. Legal issues from the past, challenges with economy causing higher defaults, both impacted ability to grow - difficult decisions like furloughs had to be made to protect the business. No one liked it or wanted to do it but now everyone understands it was necessary.

It's all about the management bottom line, not the people
Jan 3, 2023 - Anonymous Employee in Fort Worth, TXRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
I love my coworkers, and my direct manager kept their word and helped advance my career! I am able to advance my training regularly and my hours are fairly flexible. Now that I'm not a bottom level worker, the pay is good and bonuses (when granted) are nice. The medical insurance is decent. The dental and vision are pretty good.
Cons
Management will often hire for other teams, leaving my department to perform 2-3x the workload leading to high turnover. Upper management appears indifferent by years of denying adding headcount to the team and is only focused on departments that create immediate revenue.

Profits before all else - Ship is sinking
Oct 27, 2022 - General IT in Fort Worth, TXRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
- Executive open-door policy. - Decent benefits package. - Plenty of PTO once you have been around awhile. - Almost entirely WFH.
Cons
- The company recently furloughed a large part of its staff as a severance pay avoidance tactic. No advance notice. No compensation. - Lots of production issues that create lots of noise. - Late-night on-call support required of some roles. - Claims to be following agile methodiogy however, fails to understand that agile is a lot more than a piece of project management software with 10-day cycles.

Move from Agile to Waterfall
Jun 17, 2022 - Dev Manager in Addison, TXRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Great people. Competitive Salary. Work life balance is good, although that is starting to change a bit.
Cons
We just made a major move from Agile software development back to the dark ages of waterfall. Tight, unreasonable, arbitrary deadlines, with demands for accurate time estimates for large projects with incomplete and vague requirements, are burning people out, fast. The attrition rate proves it.
Continue readingWe appreciate your positive feedback about our culture, compensation, and work-life integration and wanted to take a moment to address your concerns as we always value input at all levels in our process as we seek to improve continuously. Elevate is committed to following Agile software development practices. With strategic, multi-month software projects, it is often necessary to also add a layer of planning and structure. Our methodology takes desired timelines into account and aims to balance those against scope and capacity. We continually refine our methodology to deliver great software while providing for a positive developer experience. We agree it can be frustrating to have deadlines that do not seem to align with the full scope, and it’s something the technology leadership team is focused on improving as we determine our priorities each quarter. Please know that we are flexible when it comes to needing to alter deadlines based on resources and requirements, so please let the technology leadership team know if you have concerns about a deadline.

Pros
Competitive pay at the time of hire as well as market adjusted at the new year. Flexibility with working at home or in the office.
Cons
Elevate will definitely make you unmotivated and question your skills at times. Everything is a “hack job” and when outages happen, no one knows who to call or how to fix it or even how their application flows. Lack of documentation is the downfall here.

Cons
Nothing negative really to report. A job is job, and this is a great job opportunity.

Pros
Free beer when they had happy hours.
Cons
Leadership is so distracted looking for the next shiny penny that nothing really gets accomplished. Toxic corporate culture dominated by a clique mindset.
