I worked at Eli Lilly and Company full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

High quality people. to work with Respect for People, Integrity, and Excellence are their core values. Competitive pay and benefits package.

    Cons

Can be more internally focused than externally (customer) focused at times. Compliance and process tend to make the company less nimble in their decision making. Corporate reorganizations are now a part of the culture, which has resulted in a number of quality individuals seeking employment elsewhere.

    Advice to Management

Stay committed to your employees, and your results will remain strong.

I have been working at Eli Lilly and Company full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Good company. Traditionally loyal. Pays well. Great city. Lots of opportunity within the company and globally. Work life balance is awesome.

    Cons

Culture is changing. Loyalty is going out the door. The old adage of 'it's who you know' is taken to another level at this company. Hard work and performance has very little to do with promotion opportunity

I worked at Eli Lilly and Company full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

People, people, people. Values mean something. The culture values performance, yet is focused on supporting the people who make that performance happen. People come here for long careers.

    Cons

Speak-up culture isn't always honored. All organizations have politics, and if speaking up goes against certain opinions, your own thoughts can be minimized. Decisions can be made by leadership based on who provided input, not the merits of the information itself.

I have been working at Eli Lilly and Company full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Pay is ok to start, but once they have you hooked, forget about even keeping up with cost of living.

    Cons

They SAY you do well but just dont have money for raises.
Lots of SAYING but management doesnt match their words with actions. They love your great ideas but either are jealous or dont want to change as they SAY they do.
They SAY they are all great leaders, but most couldnt spell the word. SOME are good managers but leadership is just another one of their words.
    Discrimination is a real problem.

    Advice to Management

Let the real leaders be promoted. If you want things to improve, you must be willing to change...and the REAL leaders could make that happen.

    Cons

Sometimes promotions can be difficult if you are at a certain level. Culture has changed over the years. It be challenging to get a process through to completion due to red tape

    Advice to Management

Stay true to original roots of the company. Things don't have to change just because there's new mgmt.
