    Pros

    Amazing store manager
Beautiful clothes that come from collection stores

    Cons

Clothing allotment is terrible you get money token out of your paychecks for it
Commission structure is a scheme they will tell you you get a certain percentage of your sales but forget to tell you what you have to do to get that certain percentage. Does not take very good care of his employees.
    Pay is terrible.

    Advice to Management

Be honest. Communicate better. Pay more for your workers.

    Advice to Management

What management?! There's ZERO management, ZERO replacement for the many staff personnel who leave. Elie is a dictator, and speaks so disgustingly and disrespectfully to his employees. Its diplorable. It's no wonder no one stays. He is a liar, cheat, and completely lacks artistic talent - he goes to bergdorf & buys other designers products and then puts his own label tag in them next season claiming them as his own designs. He does not pay rent on his offices or retail shops, doesn't pay his employees, partners, or warehouses. He is racist, he openly will not hire anyone who isn't 'on brand' - aka someone who is white and skinny. Elie needs to seek clinical help, and not just 'spiritual' help. He's treated his own family and significant others so badly, they do not care even care about his well being. His own children do or talk to him, and I don't blame them. He may be personally wealthy, but his life has become so poor. Most days he is too high (smokes regularly in the office) to comprehend what is going on. His employees are afraid of him, as he is so unpredictable. His partners fear continuing to work with him because of his lack of sanity & well being. After working at this company, I have lost all respect for the designer and the brand. I don't foresee the company lasting another quarter.

I worked at Elie Tahari full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The clothing allowance was great, but it disappears really fast considering you're always supposed to be wearing product from the current season.
The clientele is about 40% returning customers, and after working with certain clients over and over again, you definitely can come to form a rapport and even friendship with some of them, which is a fantastic perk, and great for networking.

    Cons

Company is run like a madhouse. There's probably more turnover in the corporate ranks than in the actual stores. There's never any help or solutions available or willing to be given, even when entire stores are falling apart.

    Advice to Management

Look at what other companies are doing to keep they're employees happy, productive, and successful. Maybe you won't have to keep hiring new CEOs every 6 months.

I worked at Elie Tahari (Less than a year)

    Pros

Within the design sector, absolutely stunning offices and a huge team with some seriously talented people. Decent benefits.

    Cons

Unfortunately, employees are paid quite poorly and really overworked. The company seems like it's showing cracks; employees who leave for better opportunities (which happens a lot) aren't replaced with new ones, leaving teams with increasingly huge workloads. Small perks like office coffee machine or speedy printer maintenance are disappearing for budget slashing.

    Advice to Management

Invest in your employees; give them a reason to stay at your company, and give them time to sleep.

I have been working at Elie Tahari full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Friendly environment

    Great Clothes

    Clothing Allowance

    Very diverse

    Great Co-Workers

    Corporate is very friendly

    Management is really good/helpful

We get the opportunity to meet different people every day, all of our clients are also very loyal to the brand which is really nice! It's not a huge store but that's a great opportunity to work closely and be more helpful with each and every client.

    Cons

So far there isn't any cons from working here, I've had nothing but positivity and every one is always positive here.

    Advice to Management

Keep on doing the good work!

    Pros

Great experience for entry level candidates in the fashion production world. Also, the clothing discount is a plus.

    Cons

Over worked, constant disrespect, unprofessional office relationships and no organization. The people in higher management are clueless and leave everything until last minute and bring everyone down with them. Horrible communication. Also, the head designers are very juvenile in a sense everyone talks about everyone like they haven't left high school.

    Advice to Management

Go back to school and reassess yourself. Keep the lines of communication open. Respect your assistants.
