    Positive Outlook

I worked at Elite Ambulance full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

-Flexible hours, ability to work with paramedics, wide variety of calls (although BLS dialysis transports and discharges frequent), constant opportunities to learn if of a mindset to do so (easy to get complacent and run down though) -Overtime pay opportunities great (they are always looking for ppl to take shifts)

    Cons

A growing company that is progressively getting better, but still fumbling to maintain a level of professionalism -Learn on the streets approach, no hand holding with hospital communication procedures (causes problems with hospital's perception of Elite and subsequent crew treatment) -Pay is modest

    Advice to Management

Implement official training for crews in specific hospital communication procedures, upgrading calls, communications with medical control, etc

I have been working at Elite Ambulance full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Plentiful training opportunities, decent pay for a first time EMS job, balance of transfers and some emergencies. Good experience for moving forward in your career. You pick your schedule at the beginning

    Cons

Sometimes theres a disconnect between a certain few dispatchers to crews on the street, but there are also several very good dispatchers.

    Advice to Management

None, I think they do a pretty good job on introducing new EMT's into the field.

I worked at Elite Ambulance full-time for more than a year

    Pros

You will be traveling the Chicagoland area alot, and will get to know many different locations. There is weekly training, if you can make it. Overtime is always available.

    Cons

Like every other ambulance company you will be extremely underpaid. I cannot knock them for this too much, because most people are going to be using Elite as a stepping stone to get hours and experience while working on their Medic school and license.

I have been working at Elite Ambulance full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Independence Health Insurance over 30/wk Profit Sharing Newer vehicles replacing old Opportunity for overtime

    Cons

Lack of communication between management and employees. Dispatch needs to articulate and increase their volume, and slow down when talking. Lack of opportunity for advancement. Maybe for the youth, what about the middle agers, and seasoned Sr's.

    Advice to Management

Annual reviews Recognition for going beyond the call of duty. Sick-time without using PTO (Earned vacation time) Better training in med drivers, too many novice trainers. Ability to communicate with managers made easier. E-PRO doesn't have this option.
