8 years experience in Social Work. Have undergraduate degree in Sports Management and Masters in Social Work. Have taken the Licensing exam 3 times and failed. Will be 31 in January and am wondering whether I should continue this career path. If I did decide on another career path I have no idea what that would be. Currently making around 60k, would be happier in the 70-80 range. Wondering if HealthCare is worth it long term.. Any suggestions?

I have been in my current position for 5 yrs with minimal pay increases despite consistent praise from management for being one of the strongest in our department. I hold specialty certifications, staff in ICU and ED, am part of several hospital committees, and regularly perform formulary reviews/MUEs/guideline updates. I recently found out that a new hire with no experience was brought in at a higher hourly rate than myself and several other female staff. Suggestions on steps to take with mgmt?

How would you handle not getting a lunch break when you are a salaried employee treating patients for 40 hours a week? I don’t get documentation time either, but all notes are to be completed the same day. Some of us have reached out to HR and we’re told to discuss it with the regional director, but the regional director says we’d have to come in early or leave late to block out a lunch break. My commute is an hour each way, so I’d prefer not to make my day any longer. Advice?
