I worked at Elizabeth Arden full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Elizabeth Arden has a great company culture that is the perfect hybrid of a large corporation and a small entrepreneurial company. Most people are friendly and there is a lot of transparency with little hirearchal politics.

    Cons

Most departments needed more bandwidth, most people were there after hours and they needed more resources.

    Advice to Management

    Don't be afraid of change.

I have been working at Elizabeth Arden full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I have been with the company for 7-8 years. I love the experience I have gained over those years by doing different jobs within the company. I love the culture the company has and the willingness to work with you as an employee.

    Cons

There is a lot of uncertainty now with being bought by Revlon. Moral is low now more than ever as everyone is scared they are going to lose their jobs. It sad to watch the company I love fall into this rut. There are also many people in jobs that i truly think are not qualified for and the only reason they have those roles is due to seniority and not skill set. Also some roles have poor work/life balance. All you do is work and you get burnt out quickly.

    Advice to Management

Talk to your employees and let them know what is going on, especially now. You have many very valuable employees that hold certain departments together that are looking at jumping ship because of all the uncertainty and lack of communication.

    Pros

Very lean organization, exposure to all areas of the business

    Cons

Work overload, tends to burn people out which end up leaving. Micromanaging precludes opportunities to focus on value added work.

    Advice to Management

Need to think about work life balance for employees, and address the situation when a manager has several turn overs in a short period of time.

I have been working at Elizabeth Arden full-time

    Pros

Great co-workers. Heritage company with tradition of prestige markets. Flexible hours. Some potential for career development.

    Cons

Lost sight of tradition. Maximizing short term profits while cheapening brand image. Mid to upper level management

    Advice to Management

Should spend some time with the lower level employees. They know where the waste and inefficiencies can be found.

I have been working at Elizabeth Arden (More than 8 years)

    Pros

EA has offered a lot of opportunities for growth and travel over the years. A wide variety of projects, many having a positive impact on the company and its bottom line. Knowing what I know today, would make the choice to work here again!

    Cons

The company is struggling and is being acquired by Revlon. Limits the work that can be done and opportunities for growth.
