I have been working at Elizabeth Arden full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

90% off services, Good shopping and eating in the area, and The name will take you far.

    Cons

You will not move up no matter how hard you work. Some ladies have been there 15 years plus with no raise, so learn what you can build a clientele and move on.

    Advice to Management

Your employees are working there behinds to the bone. To be a high end spa you lack the caring affection, and understanding Mrs. Arden built her empire on. Yes people on the out side see you as a company of class but you employees know the truth. Maybe you should work on that.

I have been working at Elizabeth Arden full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good salary that's about it, easy parking, pretty office clean bathrooms.
Benefits are okay, holidays are more than most Florida companies dish out

    Cons

Horrible CEO that appears for half a year and mistreats employees by slamming doors in their faces literally he slams doors in your face
Directors and evps mistreat and talk down to staff
It's Cuban run if you aren't Cuban you are talked about behind your back in Spanish
The company sells garbage cologne from the 1980s which no one will buy, very stressful failing environment

    Advice to Management

They need to treat employees with some decent courtesy

I worked at Elizabeth Arden full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Elizabeth Arden has somewhat of a family feel and a good work/life balance.

    Cons

Elizabeth Arden has no clear strategy. The company is always behind trends and consistently reacts to issues rather than having clear direction from management. To top it all off, their management does not agree on anything. Each leader acts in silos instead of working as one company with one vision. Until this completely changes, nothing will improve.

    Advice to Management

My advice is to restructure management, not the lower-level employees who have no influence on the company's future.

I worked at Elizabeth Arden full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Very few perks and unsatisfied workers make up the miserable work environment.

    Cons

Senior management who don't listen and who talk openly about all the store managers in a derogatory manner, micromanagement even though they are far removed from the average consumer who shops at our stores. Being told to sell expired merchandise. knowing that our same products are sold at Marshall's for much cheaper, we're told to tell customers that the products there are inferior or close to expiring, yet they are the exact same things we sell, plus we always sold expired merchandise. Treatment of part time sales people were appalling, leading to a very back stabbing type of environment. Part timers are not valued in any way, just used as needed and cut back during slow season without any concern for them. They are offered no incentives and little recognition, no holiday pay, no benefits, etc. Use them, throw them out.

    Advice to Management

Take the time to know the staff at your stores, don't get involved in the petty gossip and backstabbing, don't be so quick to jump the gun when the workers that you make so miserable, lie to you to get ahead. You created a hostile workplace where nobody can trust the other and they claw to get to management. ASM's should definitely make far more than what they do make for the amount of responsibility that they have, no wonder they can't wait to overthrow the manager to get his or her salary. Most of all, realize that all the store managers and ASMs talk about how unfair and unforgiving ihe company is, due to the senior management. Miserable!
