I have been working at Elizabeth Hospice full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Staff are professional, experienced, dedicated to the work and the needs of the patients and their families and focused on the heart-based mission of the agency. The leadership team is effective, committed, willing to consider new ways of doing things and genuinely cares about the employees. The overall compensation package is generous, including competitive pay, generous PTO offering and mileage reimbursement, robust benefit plans and competitive 401(k) match and flexible schedules.

    Cons

The occasional need to for extra driving, but they offer excellent mileage reimbursement.

I worked at Elizabeth Hospice full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Excellent mission and values. Patient care is number one. Multi disciplinary teams work closely together for greater good of the patient and family. Employees are caring and helpful.

    Cons

Heavy work load. Spends a lot of time working "off the clock" to keep up. Improve field orientation program.

    Advice to Management

Use strong and organized RN's to orient. Improve work life balance. Decrease number of patient per nurse caseload.

I worked at Elizabeth Hospice part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Kind and supportive co-workers. You're well equiped with cell phones and lap tops. There's a lot of flexibility that homes with working out in the field.

    Cons

Weekends could be a challenge due to high patient loads and not enough staff & management support like there is during the week. Also, lower accountability that comes with being "off site" a lot means that others may take advantage of this system unfairly.

I worked at Elizabeth Hospice part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Elizabeth Hospice administration takes seriously employee satisfaction and providing excellent customer service. The administration goes above and beyond to provide support to staff in the field, and colleagues work collaboratively to provide the best care for the patients and families experiencing end of life issues.

    Cons

TEH is not to blame for all the changes in regulations they must roll out and manage. They are working to upgrade technology to make it efficient for use in the field. IT is always quick and willing to assist. Need to encourage cross department training and opportunities.
