I have been working at Elliott Davis Decosimo full-time

    Pros

Great people, tons of opportunities to grow, great perks with unlimited Time Away, 12 week paid maternity leave and lots of company sponsored meals and gatherings.

    Cons

Definitely need to be ready to drive your career and pick up slack occasionally from others to stay on top.

I worked at Elliott Davis Decosimo full-time

    Pros

-Most of the clients are local so not much long distance travel.
    -Hours are somewhat predictable
    -Pay is average

    Cons

-Client portfolio smaller than larger firms. Few public clients.
-Differentiates from larger firms with larger clients by promoting the "culture" of being friendly and laid back although all firms focus on "work-life balance" (or lack thereof given the nature of the business)
-Bonuses and pay raises are discretionary and unpredictable. A lot of subjectivity based on whoever likes you.
-Industry specialization hard to obtain by juggling smaller, less complex clients
-Basic audit software and methodology (again, mostly smaller businesses, not for profits, again, few public clients)
-Basically the same amount of work as a big firm would require less the bigger brand name firms to put on your resume which would give you SOX experience.

    Advice to Management

-Be honest. Recruiting, focus on the type of industry and clients and strive to show the value of the work that is required from each person. Having one of the "best" internship programs isn't everything.

I have been working at Elliott Davis Decosimo full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Charlotte office has a lot of managers and shareholders that care about developing the team. There's a lot of time spent in training and they want feedback. Lots of happy hours and treats. Each office has its own culture though. But it feels like a team in Charlotte. When not in busy season, schedule is fairly flexible. Good benefits, lots of PTO.

    Cons

Some managers are pretty critical. Long days including Saturdays during parts of the year.
