    Pros

Lunch n Learns or whenever vendors brought in free food because management could never do it for us. Customers and some co workers were fun to work around with.

    Cons

I failed to believe bad reviews were true. But it's not until after your one year review is up that you'll have a different view of management and company. Mainly management. You have greedy Host managers and whomever listens to them. Promises when first interviewed sound like the ultimate job. Company will come up with any excuses to avoid giving raises or overtime. You have a manager who will also cut your overtime hours without advising. Some managers are super racist with customers and employees. They watch every penny so do not expect them to buy you any office supplies. Never do any company activities for employees. If so expect to pay for far trips to the same place every year.

No raises or advancement because it took them 10-20 years for them to get to where they are at "Why should you be any different?"

I couldn't agree more with what a former employee said in the reviews.

The promises, promotions and raises sound good when first hired. It's not until your 1 year evaluation that you reconsider the company. Forget about being a hard working, going out your way employee. Upper employees took them 10 years to get to to where they are at "Why should you be any different?"
    Cons
Upper management unethical. Racist to minorities. Love to hire people who like to be in the same position with no desire to move up. Hate to have self motivated driven employees.

    Advice to Management

Keep your promises, let go of the past and don't listen to the host manager behind your ear. Just because it took you years to move up or get raises does not mean you have to repeat that cycle. Let go of your past experience with the company.

    Pros

Some co-workers are very cool to work with.

    Cons

Prejudiced behind closed doors so if you're a woman or minority don't expect to get anywhere no matter how hard you work. Safety is a big problem in the stores with wire, boxes and product laying in the aisle. Management will lead you on and then lie straight to your face. Pay is Very poor so if you have a family to support you won't make it.

    Advice to Management

Teach your people good housekeeping skills for saftey reasons. Think about the cost of living now days and pay your people what they're worth not by the color of their skin, gender or Good Ole Boy status. Stop lying to people, be honest.

I have been working at Elliott Electric Supply full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Mostly relaxed work environment.
Team leads are nice and easy to talk to.
Other more experienced developers are generous in helping when you are stuck or unlearned in a topic or area.
    Offers decent benefits.

    Cons

The CIO micromanages a little too much.
The CEO and ex-CEO (founder and chair member) think the developers are overpaid when they are in fact underpaid (especially by national standards).
90 day period before eligible for health benefits.
    No room for job growth.
    No real development methodology followed.
Turn over is relatively high (though better in recent months).

    Advice to Management

Give your employees a voice that is not only acknowledged, but seriously taken into consideration. Compensate them appropriately because they deserve more than you think and many of them actually want to do good work for you.
