I have been working at Ellis and Watts full-time

    Pros

Small company feel with exciting projects that are always changing. The new People First culture from MiTek (who recently took over E&W) is a large step in the right direction. Also, this company is part of Berkshire Hathaway which brings some nice benefits.

    Cons

The building is a bit old looking

    Advice to Management

    update office space

    Ellis and Watts Response

    Jun 13, 2016 – President

We do plan to reinvest in the office space. We have been holding off, pending potential road construction by ODOT in the area, to understand any impact to the facility. This should be resolved by... More

    Positive Outlook

I have been working at Ellis and Watts full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Ellis & Watts is under new management. Ellis & Watts is implementing the People First principals and believes by providing people with the proper tools and support, great things will happen. After 10 months already, there is a huge difference.

    Cons

Investment in the company has begun. While it never feels fast enough, it is in progress.

I have been working at Ellis and Watts full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Company is under new management. Apparently, old management did not value some employees and treated them badly. That said, most people have been here for decades. I haven't been here very long, but current management is very kind and hard working. The company seems to be doing well.

    Cons

Building is old and in need of refurbishment

I have been working at Ellis and Watts as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

It paid well, but that's about all it had going for it. Not sure if that extends to the full-time folks.

    Cons

Pretty terrible company culture, lots of yelling, employees not treated terribly well. It's where hopes and dreams go to die. The internship was meh (lots of sitting around), and the people who worked there full-time didn't seem too jazzed to be there.

    Pros

It has a few very good employees, a nice view of the lake, and a Chevy dealership nearby.

    Cons

E&W has VERY high turnover. This is not a place you can count on if you want a long career with one employer.

    Advice to Management

A change in the culture of the company is desperately needed. This recession will not last forever and when it is over dissatisfied employees WILL look for greener pastures.
