I have been working at Ellumen full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Flexibility, compensation, benefits, & the team are best of breed. They get it here, it's all about the work. If you're responsive & competent you have all the flexibility a professional can ask for. I've been here several years now and we're a small company (50-100 employees) so I know everyone that's come and gone. From time-to-time contracts are lost and layoffs occur (as they do everywhere, there's no such thing as a "permanent" job) but from what I've seen the organization finds a way to keep the GOOD people around. If you spend most of your week surfing the web and shopping on amazon odds are they won't bend over backwards to keep you on-staff following a contract loss. If you're the proactive type and enjoy finding ways to add value to your team there's longevity here for you.

    Cons

Government customer can make for challenging days/weeks.
Current state of federal procurement process

    Advice to Management

    Lets keep it growing

Smart people, opportunities for advancement, corporate culture, and benefits/ compensation

    Cons

    Advice to Management

    "Fast Pace, Learning Opportunities, Variety"

    StarStarStarStarStar

    Pros

I have found many opportunities to learn and grow so far in my work here. The work is varied, and the different tasks keep things feeling fresh. Other employees are positive about collaborating together to get the job done, whatever it may be. Management is supportive of creativity and encourages innovation from every level of employee.

    Cons

Working in this environment isn't for everyone. If you're looking to do the same tasks day in and day out, this probably won't be a good fit for you. This job requires you to be agile and flexible in completing tasks and setting priorities.

    Advice to Management

Have more all-hands meetings where everyone gets to hear about what's going on in the company. Those meetings really help promote employee engagement and get everyone energized about the direction of the company.

I have been working at Ellumen full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Interesting technical work / problems to solve

Very generous in compensation and benefits / bonuses possible

Flexible WRT work location, and to some extent, schedule allowing people to integrate work into their lives

    Great group of people

    Cons

    Can be chaotic

    Can be overly demanding

    Advice to Management

Find the optimum setting on the spectrum between
Working too many offerings with too few people such that none of the offerings is getting sufficient attention
    and
Working too few offerings such that there are too many eggs in one basket as opportunities pass you by

It's a very difficult setting to make correctly.

I have been working at Ellumen full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Outstanding benefits, good people, and a performance based culture. If there are circumstances that keep you out of the office you can work remotely so long as you're responsive and produce a.k.a. "big boy rules". I've been here several years and I couldn't be happier. There is personal and professional accountability so don't think you can "work from home" and then go catch a matinee. It's a smaller company (under 100 employees) so there's not much room to "fly under the radar"... if that's what you're looking for this might not be the best place for you. If you like to contribute, collaborate, and grow then you should talk to these guys.

    Cons

It's a small business and there's isn't much wiggle room for a bench once a project ends so the company needs to continually win new work to keep everyone engaged. As a result there are layoffs from time to time according to business needs. This is no different from any of the large integrators (Northrop, Mantech, Lockheed, etc.) There's no such thing as a permanent job anymore.

I have been working at Ellumen full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Awesome coworkers, corporate culture, rewarding mission, and great compensation and benefits. It's a growing business but individual employees still have easy access to senior leadership. Management is knowledgeable and employees have opportunities to work across and learn several areas of business if they choose.

    Cons

Since they're small process is not always defined so with growth comes some pain. Not everybody is cut out for an entrepreneurial environment and some employees need more structure to be successful.

    Advice to Management

More communications relating to current endeavors, company goals, and corporate outlook would be great

    Pros

    Company has very good benifits

    Cons

Ellumen has layed off 1/3 of their employees in the last few months. Horrible company to work for..... Employees quit few weeks later after being hired. Program Manager doesn't know what she is doing.
