I worked at Embassy Suites (More than a year)

    Pros

One thing I enjoyed the most was the infrastructure of management. There was direct and clear lines of communication and you knew exactly who to go to. This is one thing that has lacked in other opportunities I've experienced. They also equipped you with a lot of great tools to succeed in sales.

    Cons

The downside with them was the strict corporate rules that were I forced in you like wearing your jacket even if you just wearing the restroom. I understand that you are maintaining a certain look but there has to be some kind of understanding

    Advice to Management

Make sure your upper management does not show new people or managers under them practices that are not correct. I saw many people being taught shady things to make sure everything went well during audits.

I worked at Embassy Suites full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good benefits, good 'team' players. Training was there and available online if you wanted or needed it.

    Cons

Upper management takes the 'guest' side all the time. New managers are thrown to the wolves upon hire and then are held more responsible for everything then the 'day' managers.

    Advice to Management

Give your 'new managers' more support, and don't expect everything to go 'great' when you open the house to third party reservations with low rates, which ends up bringing in the type of clientele that damages the property, causes issues with other guests and then lambastes you on survey's

I worked at Embassy Suites full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

It had a great team atmosphere. Other pro's Hilton provided a lot of opportunities to train and gain more experience.

    Cons

They cared too much about being late 2 minutes here and there. Also, they don't have much compassion when you need a little time off for your children events or sickness. Basically no work life balance at all
