I have been working at Embrace Home Loans

    Pros

+ This is both a pro and a con, but because the company grew exponentially in a short amount of time, everyone has a voice. + Community is highly valued and is often a charitable focus, especially if an employee has ties. + Most departments recognize the location is a bit out of the way, so many can opt to work remotely when needed.

    Cons

    - There's a definite lack of communication and lack of transparency both within the departments and between other departments. - Network connection is constantly disrupted or slow, limiting productivity. - Technology is severely outdated. - Onboarding is almost non-existent, apart from a tour from HR. Most new employees have to wait weeks and sometimes months for a desk, and almost a week for access to applications....

I have been working at Embrace Home Loans full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

The entire organization has a culture to make things happen fast. No on closes loans faster than Embrace, so much so that we have a closing guaranty that we will close your loan on time or pay the borrower $2,500. The compensation and benefits are excellent and the culture, from top to bottom, empowers employees at all levels to be decision makers. Localized processing is a tremendous boost and the closing department...

I have been working at Embrace Home Loans full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

I have been working at Embrace Home Loans for almost 17 years, so I think it is fair to say that my experience here has been overwhelmingly positive. I feel that most people will quote salary or benefits if asked what makes their company great, and I understand that, and Embrace has those things, but making a company great is so much more than that. In my experience, Embrace is a company that listens to its employees,...

    Cons

The biggest draw backs are really industry driven, being a mortgage company it can be difficult to gage trends, although I think we do our best to insulate ourselves from the ups and downs of our business, it is impossible to always protect yourself from the future.

    Advice to Management

Continue the path of openness, sharing ideas, and striving to create a healthy work life balance.

I worked at Embrace Home Loans full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Team work and development were big here. From the small branches to the larger offices, every persons development was important. the benefits were outstanding, the people were even better. They also consistently gave back to the community and is a rare company that truly does encourage employees to take (paid) time off to volunteer (separate from your PTO!).

    Cons

I have nothing negative to say about Embrace.

    Advice to Management

Keep up with praising your employees and making them feel good about the every day. I always remember the morning emails sent by the President, and the "run with me" by the CEO - this national company had a small family feel to it and it really helped me flourish.

I have been working at Embrace Home Loans full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Embrace home loans has been nothing but amazing in terms of how they treat their employees. The community feel here is truly one of a kind, and each employee is seen as a person and not just a number. Something that I immediately felt during my first week here was how welcoming and helpful everyone was. This is the first job I have had where I actually look forward to coming to work, so I can see why people stay here...

I have been working at Embrace Home Loans full-time

    Pros

I have worked at Embrace Home Loans for almost 16 years and could never see myself working for another company. The opportunity to improve yourself as a person and a professional is part of the culture at Embrace. The evolution of Embrace has been amazing over the years. The key to the success of this company is due to the Owner, Dennis Hardiman and the President of Embrace, Kurt Noyce. The investment in the employees...

    Cons

There are few cons to discuss about Embrace Home Loans. Every company has work/life balance issues unless employees are able to work at their on pace away from the office. This is a mortgage company and Is built around a sales floor that drives the results for the company.

    Advice to Management

Any advice that I could give the management has already been given by others and changes have been made. This is a employee first company. We value the personal development of our people and offer many opportunities for growth.

I have been working at Embrace Home Loans full-time

    Pros

I've been with Embrace for just over 5 years. This is a great company that affords opportunity for those who are willing to put in the time and effort...it does not go unrecognized. We are in the mortgage business and we attend to the needs of our business model, but also value people's lives outside of the workplace. We create a good balance for life and work. We have great people that do great work!

    Cons

There are none to speak of.

I worked at Embrace Home Loans full-time

    Pros

Owner has worked tirelessly to build a company with courage, empathy, and innovation as guiding principles.

    Cons

These guiding principles are not being embraced by management. The teams seem to live in quiet desperation with great ideas and no understanding of how to bring these ideas to the surface. New ideas are quickly suppressed and met with resistance. The fear of failure is palpable and highly toxic, which leads to chaos with daily pivots and waffling. There is absolutely no autonomy or trust. Basic people management...

    Advice to Management

Love what the owner is attempting to build in terms of creating a loving, empathetic culture, however it is under siege by team leaders that lack the fundamentals of managing people, and are clearly terrified of messing up. Either new management should be put in place immediately, or put them through rigorous people management training. The very key missing ingredient in general is courage in authentic leadership.
