    Pros

Owner has worked tirelessly to build a company with courage, empathy, and innovation as guiding principles.

    Cons

These guiding principles are not being embraced by management. The teams seem to live in quiet desperation with great ideas and no understanding of how to bring these ideas to the surface. New ideas are quickly suppressed and met with resistance. The fear of failure is palpable and highly toxic, which leads to chaos with daily pivots and waffling. There is absolutely no autonomy...

    Advice to Management

Love what the owner is attempting to build in terms of creating a loving, empathetic culture, however it is under siege by team leaders that lack the fundamentals of managing people, and are clearly terrified of messing up. Either new management should be put in place immediately, or put them through rigorous people management training. The very key missing ingredient in general is courage in authentic leadership.

    Pros

The overall Culture is good, as are the employee benefits. They had a reasonable level of transparency from management team from what I recall.

    Cons

The company is not nimble and willing to do what is necessary to grow. Everything must fit in the box. New ideas are not well received. New people often find it hard to fit in. They'll say they are open minded, but you'll learn differently. Location is pretty remote from high population areas, and requires long commutes on top of long hours. Too much effort is spent on...

    Advice to Management

Don't expect different and improved results by doing the same old things. Sometimes turnover of tenured people IS a good thing in order to refresh and grow.

    Disapproves of CEO

I worked at Embrace Home Loans full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

They give back to the community and our charitable to employees going through hardships.

    Cons

Constant changes, no direction, continual decrease to commission plans. Always coming up with new ideas and no follow through.

    Advice to Management

Actually stick to your mission statement

I worked at Embrace Home Loans full-time

    Pros

Professional. From a recruitment standpoint, Embrace rolls out the red carpet and really, the employees couldn't be more professional and open. This trickles down from Corporate non-management headquarters (in RI) to the branch levels.

    Cons

Prepare to process your files from start to finish which doesn't work in this Purchase market which drags down sales and production. Additionally, new ideas on origination are not welcomed by upper management-other than the 80's mentality of 'hitting Realtor offices.' Every LO in the market is fighting for that same deal and while that mentality may work for some, new systems...

    Advice to Management

Welcome ingenuity. Things have changed from 20 years ago in this industry-origination-wise and some of the best LO's have left the company because of this. The company means well, but fails to listen to the field. And in these challenging times, again in the mortgage business, that means high turnover and unhappy employees. Get rid of the current Loan Operating System. Very cumbersome.
