    Pros

    The pay is the best in the area. The hours are normal. Subsidized meals from an on site "cafe"

    Cons

    Favoritism, job security, management is out of touch and extremely arrogant

    I have been working at Embraer full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Nice resume builder, other than that not very many Pros to mention.
    Maybe the free coffee ??

    Cons

    From the top down, no one knows what anyone is doing. Management is always worried about being fired so there are no decisions made and if something does not go well they will throw anyone under the bus to save themselves.
    People are put into positions and have no experience in that area - it's a boys club, buddy system established and not a chance to get fairly promoted. Career development is an illusion. Upper management is not aware of mid-management practices, this goes against company culture and motivates people to leave.

    Advice to Management

    We need training and processes, Hire qualified people.

    There are plenty of opportunities

    Cons

    The opportunities seem to be only for Men or Brazilians women are not viewed as good leaders. Do not be a go getter as a women in this company you will be cut down and never advance. They promote friends that are unskilled for many positions.

    Advice to Management

    Know the skill set of all your employees and take chances on your employees that show potential, mold those individuals before you loose great talent.

    Pros

    Cool jets other than that, there are not many pros. They have good benefits.

    Cons

    From the top down, no one knows what anyone is doing. Management is always worried about being fired so there are no decisions made and if something does not go well they will throw anyone under the bus to save themselves. People are put into positions and have no experience in that area - it's a complete mess. People leave or get fired all the time. It's an HR nightmare.

    Advice to Management

    Stop treating employees like disposable items. Get better organized and give better directions

    I have been working at Embraer full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Nashville has some of the best people you could ever work with. The work performed in comparison to the resources given is amazing. Embraer is a great company, the only limit to the Nashville facility is its leader.

    Cons

    Poor leadership. The managing director is a horrible leader. He runs the company based off of intimidation and distrust. He will not allow the managers to do the job they are paid to do. He puts off a facade that safety and quality are his top priority's, in reality he does not care. Profit drives everything he does. The technicians on the floor are made to feel the pain of his poor decisions and bad management. If you want to know how not to run a business follow the managing director for a month.

    Advice to Management

    Trust your people.Give the technicians the resources they need. These wild swings of hiring and firing do not work.

    Pros

    Employees are helpful and great to work with. Pay is low if you are a contract employee

    Cons

    Purchasing department is mismanaged with a lot of turn over due to the poor representation of a dishonest Management personnel. Management demeans the team on a regular basis

    Advice to Management

    Replace purchasing management with an honest personnel that the team can trust and work well with.

    I have been working at Embraer as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Able to to work M-F days. Not over worked.

    Cons

    As a contractor you never know if you will be needed the next day. The agency that you contract through can easily call you and say that Embraer does not have hours for you anymore. So...job security is nill. Also you do not get health benefits and are treated like a second class citizen compared to the employees who work directly for Embraer.

    I have been working at Embraer full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    You'll be really excited to start in this company with all the possibilities; their words will leave you jumping for joy. You'll eventually see the light, though.

    Cons

    You will get a great benefits package, the only problem is you don't have enough work/life balance to ever use it. You will be expected to work every waking hour. You will be expected to be adoring of the fact that you have a job. And you will be expected to accept a lower salary than you should to work in the field.

    Advice to Management

    Re-evaluate. Management is two-faced and untrustworthy.
