    Pros

    Embraer has a very conscientious employee base and excellent aircraft design capability. The benefits are also exceptional.

    Cons

    The Brazilian culture is not open to non-Brazilian employees, even in the U.S.

    Advice to Management

    become a true global company, not just a Brazilian company operating globally.

    Pros

    Nice resume builder, other than that not very many Pros to mention.
    Maybe the free coffee ??

    Cons

    From the top down, no one knows what anyone is doing. Management is always worried about being fired so there are no decisions made and if something does not go well they will throw anyone under the bus to save themselves.
    People are put into positions and have no experience in that area - it's a boys club, buddy system established and not a chance to get fairly promoted. Career development is an illusion. Upper management is not aware of mid-management practices, this goes against company culture and motivates people to leave.

    Advice to Management

    We need training and processes, Hire qualified people.

    Pros

    Decent benefits, average compensation package

    Cons

    Insular management structure, CEO with poor vision, promotions are a popularity contest and if your're nor Brazilian I hope you like glass ceilings.

    Advice to Management

    It's not really useful to give advice to people that are not interested in it; and the people at Embraer are not at all interested in anything their employees have to say. If they did listen I wouldn't know where to begin when it comes to the non merit based promotion system, sniping and back stabbing that goes on in this company.

    There are plenty of opportunities

    Cons

    The opportunities seem to be only for Men or Brazilians women are not viewed as good leaders. Do not be a go getter as a women in this company you will be cut down and never advance. They promote friends that are unskilled for many positions.

    Advice to Management

    Know the skill set of all your employees and take chances on your employees that show potential, mold those individuals before you loose great talent.

    Pros

    Cool jets other than that, there are not many pros. They have good benefits.

    Cons

    From the top down, no one knows what anyone is doing. Management is always worried about being fired so there are no decisions made and if something does not go well they will throw anyone under the bus to save themselves. People are put into positions and have no experience in that area - it's a complete mess. People leave or get fired all the time. It's an HR nightmare.

    Advice to Management

    Stop treating employees like disposable items. Get better organized and give better directions

    the pay is not great

    they should pay according to experience and studies. Im an A&P/ Avionics tech, fully licensed and still make the same as a TECH 1

    Pros

    Nashville has some of the best people you could ever work with. The work performed in comparison to the resources given is amazing. Embraer is a great company, the only limit to the Nashville facility is its leader.

    Cons

    Poor leadership. The managing director is a horrible leader. He runs the company based off of intimidation and distrust. He will not allow the managers to do the job they are paid to do. He puts off a facade that safety and quality are his top priority's, in reality he does not care. Profit drives everything he does. The technicians on the floor are made to feel the pain of his poor decisions and bad management. If you want to know how not to run a business follow the managing director for a month.

    Advice to Management

    Trust your people.Give the technicians the resources they need. These wild swings of hiring and firing do not work.

    Great benefits, fair pay for area, Familiarization courses, resume builder

    Cons

    Middle management gives false information to the floor and senior management. Just waiting for Brazil to give up and sell the place. Very reactive, hardly ever proactive on decision making.

    Advice to Management

    Quit promoting people that suck at their current position or were some sort of management at Republic. They ran that in to the ground, now doing the same here.

    Good work environment, good co-workers and good benefits

    Cons

    Many good people left... boys club, buddy system established and not a chance to get fairly promoted. Career development is an illusion. Upper management is not aware of mid-management practices, this goes against company culture and motivates people to leave

    Advice to Management

    Management cannot outsmart all the smart people they have around them. Be fair to your employees, don't fool them... you should encourage the bests to stay... to many are gone already...
