I have been working at Emergent BioSolutions full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good pay, benefits and for the most part good people. My Director is one of the best people here and our department works together as a team to get the job done.

    Cons

HR is horrible. They had this one employee that was terminated for sexual harrassment. Now Emergent is learning that this girl has lied and even perjured herself. The company fired a good person and she still works here. The director of HR is just evil and sloppy. If they did it to him, they will do it to you.

    Advice to Management

Some are good, others are micro managers all the way. Get rid of the dead weight, clean house before you don't have a house.

I have been working at Emergent BioSolutions full-time

    Pros

close to the city, good bonus

    Cons

horrible health benefits you have pay for everything, people are ok but there is a lot of politics and back stabbing. Employees talk about each other and do not support each other. there is no growth. The staff is ok with where they are at, there is not desire to learn more, cross train or do anything extra

    Advice to Management

Create development opportunities and advance your staff. Promote your staff and get cover more with the health insurance

I have been working at Emergent BioSolutions full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Decent pay and benefits. There is a lot of potential.

    Cons

I have had 6 managers in the last 3 years. The senior leadership of the IT department is made up of Contractors and project managers. Moral is at an all time low and the department is in a sad state. No direction by leadership. Poor communication.

    Advice to Management

Need to clean house in the senior leadership of the IT department. Hire leadership with experience and that doesn't have a secret agenda.

    Pros

The site has a very dedicated team . A fast paced environment with new and challenging opportunities. Management pays attention to developing staff.

    Cons

There is always good collaboration between sites. Egos get in the way of progress and causes delays in making decisions. In turn, there is a push to meet deadlines with long hours and stress.

The culture of accountability has come along way, but is not consistent throughout the company or departments. Work-life balance still needs work. Career opportunities seem to only be available to people working in certain departments.
