I worked at Emergint Technologies full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Still has a small company feel even if they have grown a lot recently.

    Cons

Client CDC in Atlanta so this is government work. To satisfy government contract requirements, the company has to fill positions with people even if that person is not qualified. So if you get a coworker who you depend on who can not do his/her job you are stuck with that person. Do not depend on management to help you out. All they care about is people billing the government. The main office has experienced a lot of turnover. Management does not care about the individual or career development.

    Advice to Management

Take the time to listen to your employees and act. Let professionals do the work they are trained to do.

    Pros

0Some of the benefits are very good, such as the retirement match.

    Cons

The company seems to disapprove of teleworking but allows it reluctantly. They have been aquired by a competitor.

    Pros

The feedback and management contact was admirable, access to technologies was plentiful and there were plenty of opportunities to learn new things.

    Cons

Management is stretched too thin anf not available when needed. The atmosphere is very unprofessional and almost "high-school" clique-ish. Expectations from customers are not well-managed, and it feels like an endless loop of configuration changes with no real solutions in sight.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the great communication, the personal contact, but try and make everyone feel included and not so encased in silos.

    Pros

Opportunity for growth, better benifit, cutting edge technology, no red tape

    Cons

It is a pretty new company. As it is growing it needs to hire technical managers and empower developers as it is doing currently

    Advice to Management

    Keep the spirit up
