I worked at Emeritus Senior Living part-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

The workers that do care about residents really make a difference. It was a good job to have during college, provided a flexible schedule and tuition reimbursement

    Cons

Management and Corporate do not care about the needs of patients, only care about filling rooms and money

I worked at Emeritus Senior Living full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Most resident assistants are appreciated by the families of the residents in the facility.

    Cons

The turnover rate is probably the only continuity seen within this facility. Within three years there have been five EDs. Everyone is overworked and they are severely understaffed which results in unhappiness throughout the facility. Many residents are brought in to the facility requiring much more care than the facility is equipped to handle. They expect the resident assistants to do nursing home care getting paid a highly unfair rate.

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees with more respect and you'll see an outstanding difference.
