I worked at Emeritus Senior Living part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

consistent hours; other than occasional double shifts you would start early and also be able to end early. once you get to know the residents you know all of the drinks and food you will need to get together before they even sit down

    Cons

you're in charge of some manual work outside of serving such as cleaning the dining area when it's not being used. This includes scrubbing the seats. I feel like they need people more qualified using better supplies to get it really clean

    Advice to Management

don't have any... I was a seasonal college employee there for a short time. It was convenient our boss was available via text for questions on schedule

    Pros

Brookdale has brought a lot of great new ideas to former Emeritus communities. They also spend a good amount of money on collateral materials which look very nice

    Cons

24/7 even if you are hourly. They give too many chances to employees even when they are under performing.

    Advice to Management

Allow more staffing, this will improve quality of care.

    Pros

Make a difference in the resident's lives.

    Cons

Can contract illnesses and health issues while working with the clients. Not the most sanitary of work environments.

    Advice to Management

Value your employees more. Too often, we were required to put work above our home and personal lives, without consideration.
