I worked at Emeritus Senior Living (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Lots of support and training. Good potential for growth within the company. Did not get to work with them after Brookdale merger, but hear good things.

    Cons

There were way too many conference calls. Took a lot of time away from getting to do your true job responsibilities.

    Pros

This was a very good company to work for. They were flexible with my hours and a good salary for the position.

    Cons

It seemed like they were always short staffed, either in the kitchen or out on the floor. I enjoy working so it wasn't a big deal for me.

    Pros

The staff was friendly and hard working. Things run smoothly here. I really enjoyed my job. It was a fun and rewarding place to work. The patients as well as staff were wonderful.

    Cons

The only downside is that I never got the full time hours that were promised to me even though I had an excellent work review and patients as well as employees spoke highly of my work. Maybe they just didn't want to fork over the benefits. After many months of this I had to move on.

    Advice to Management

When you have a reliable and hard working employee who is dedicated to your company it's probably a good idea to do what you can within reason to hang on to them. People who take pride in their work seems to be a jewel these days.
