    Pros

Join Their Journey system for training new hires and continuing education was awesome. Assessment tools for determining levels of care made it easy to discuss and review with families. My community had an awesome management team and we worked hard as a group to deliver the best care.

    Cons

Long hours. On call 24/7. It seemed like there were too many layers of upper management.

    Advice to Management

Increase the pay for care, dining, and housekeeping staff. They work hard to deliver the care we expect of them.

I worked at Emeritus Senior Living full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

For many years, great company offered many opportunities for those that wanted to grow. Leadership under Granger Cobb was the best!

    Cons

Toward the end, some of the people who were hired did not fit as well into the culture and things started to change for the worse. Once the merger began it was difficult.

    Advice to Management

Now that the merger is complete, try not to blame things on Emeritus personnel. It just hurts the overall morale of the employees.

    Pros

Great employees and Management. If you need help on the floor the supervisors will get on the floor to help. Your fellow employees don't leave you in the weeds, they will help. The residents benefit from teamwork and it shows!

    Cons

The only thing I can complain about is there are a lot of people who call and it makes the staff who comes in have a heavier work load. But, that is anywhere you work.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you do bc it is working. Reward the ones who are there every shift and who do great work.
