    Pros

You make money so you can pay your bills. I have made many meaningful connections with residents and truly felt that I was helping them.

    Cons

Upper management is corrupt at Brookdale Bear Creek Colorado Springs. Memory care lead does not help with residents and is cold/cruel to them. Only comes out to yell. Worked to defend a Med tech who was caught on video sleeping on the night shift because they were friends. Changes schedule with less than 24 hours notice without informing staff.

Assisted living upper management has a lot of work to do, get annoyed when you give them care alerts. Sugar coat/lie to family over phone to make injuries/behavior seem
Less severe. As short as 3/26/15 2 of 5 resident assistants called out and the remaining 3 had less than a month of experience. Rather than go in on her day off supervisor just had the med tech work as both resident assistant and Med tech on 3 floors with 80 people. Very dangerous.

Associate who was a lead resident assistant that actually did his job and reported lazy people who were doing things like ignoring pages for an hour and not giving residents oxygen or yelling/cursing at residents put in two weeks, but was asked if he could stay on as PRN (as needed) supervisor is tired of having so much work so when lazy workers asked if she could instead not take him back she decided not to and has literally ignored him/not called him for weeks.

Same supervisor is a bully who's sister is lead QMAP (Med tech). Allows sister any hours she wants while literally not asking any other staff what hours work for them and responding to requests with threats of less or no hours. Same supervisor will call you on your days off and if you can't cover a shift on your off day will say things like "Huh, I guess you really don't need the money huh?" And "Since you didn't want to come in are you tired, do you want less hours?"

Current center director has never helped a resident since her started unlike the last one and is obsessed with cutting hours/number of staff.

If you can handle seeing your superiors neglect residents and lie about them while ignoring reports and allowing people who lie steal and sit instead of work for hours to work there, good. If not, stay far away.

    Advice to Management

Actually read and do something about all care alerts. Respect your employees. Don't allow cruel, uncaring people to stay employed. Communicate with your employee s. You're literally having 4 or more people in one department only or quit a month. You are doing something wrong.
