I have been working at Emirates full-time for more than 4 years

    Pros

Meet people, cultures and discover differences. I can travel the world and meet friends I made years ago in other occasions or simply having a dinner in Tokyo, or a breakfast in Paris or a dinner in Rome... Simply amazing.

    Cons

People have needs that can be meaningless for us,but very important for them. So you need to be very patient sometimes. Could be tiring due to the jet lag but if you manage your rest there is no problem. Then is not a job for homesick people.

    Positive Outlook

I worked at Emirates for more than 20 years

    Pros

Flexible working hours especially when studying part-time. Great travel benefits. Ample training in-house and regular promotions.

    Cons

Overly strict management creating rules/regulations that stunts the "fun" aspect of travelling. Very fussy and rude customers to deal with on a daily basis, i.e. overall customer profile can be very challenging to deal with.

    Advice to Management

Leadership of ground-management and in-flight management needs to compliment each other better in order to create a better and friendlier/less stressful work environment for their in-flight staff.

I have been working at Emirates full-time for more than 4 years

    Pros

good benefits in term of accommodation allowance and fly tickets. from a cabin crew view, it's a fair promotion systems, constructive training and workshops

    Cons

A lot of training training, some of them are just useless. Discrimination when it comes to nationalities. So many updates in short time

    Advice to Management

please consider cabin crew for internal jobs. Do not under estimate their professional experience. Consider those who have degrees and give them the chance to get to other jobs within the company

I worked at Emirates full-time for more than 6 years

    Pros

Good corporate company, they pay on time.

    Cons

Horizontal career moves are very limited and you may face domination of some nationalities and may not get an opportunity to move forward due to that reason. That profit share - bonus never comes. Before the fiscal year end, they do aircraft orders and payments and nobody gets a fair profit share. So, forget about the profit share.

    Advice to Management

Please do not neglect other nationalities for management positions.

I worked at Emirates full-time for more than 9 years

    Pros

An award winning, profitable company. I was offered free accommodation and a all expence paid job. All salaries are 'tax free' in Dubai and it was a great job. Dubai is a nice place to live in as it is the most westernised Arab country in the middle east. Approximately 75% of the population is expatriate. Everyone from every country, all cuisine from all over the world and all brands from all over the world are available...

    Cons

Management is bureaucratic. No unions are allowed. Therefore, bargaining power of the employee is non-existant. Read about accepeted behaviour, especially, during the holy month of fasting and other restrictive social constarints before you accept the job. The low paid staff do not receive the same treatment as high paid staff where working conditions and 'hours' concerned. There is a tendency to employ people from outside...
