    Pros

You get to see your hard work payoff and it's really rewarding. It takes a lot of patience.

    Cons

Very spread out all over Missouri, so it can be hard to get to know a lot of people.

I have been working at Emmaus Homes, Inc. full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I love the clients, and my manager rocks. There is always available overtime hours to make more money.

    Cons

Seems to be understaffed. Also raises would be appreciated, after all the extra hours and work we put in. Training classes are in St Charles, so it is a long drive for anything.

    Advice to Management

Keep appreciating the hard work DSPs and Home managers put in, we are the backbone of the company.

I have been working at Emmaus Homes, Inc. full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

I enjoy my Job at Emmaus Homes because its a friendly place to work. I have met so many clients and made so many new friends and great relationships. I have a great Bond with the clients at my home and there is a few who I used to work to with and when I see them they are so Happy to see me and remember me by first name which makes you feel good because You know you made some kind of difference after months/years not seeing them and all the staff that have probably worked with them, They still remember you! This is my Family away from my Own Family.

    Cons

More activities to get the clients and staff to better know each other, Management included.
Need more laptops/Tablets in the home for staff to complete all the documentations needed to complete their shift duties (Therap, Drill,Etc)

    Advice to Management

If you are not a person who needs a lot of help with things and you are not always at the office doing something, you don't receive enough recognition. I was recognized by the regional nurse and my RQM and Director have yet to say Good Job or anything of the such. I spend most my time at the house working so I don't see them as much.

I worked at Emmaus Homes, Inc. part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

As a former employee of Emmaus I would not trade my experience there for any other job in the world. I would encourage ANYONE looking for carreer with lots of opportunity to learn and grow to apply with Emmaus. I had the opportunity to change the lives of some incredible people with intellectual disabilities during my time with Emmaus. The bond you form with the people you support can not be created anywhere else in my opinion. You are brought into these people's lives to serve them. And Emmaus 100% prepares you to do that with the training they offer upon employment! I started with Emmaus at 18 years old. Even without a background in caregiving I felt I had all the necessary training in order to take the best care of these people possible. The clients there open up their homes and hearts to you! You'll leave work each day feeling like you spent your whole shift with your family!

    Cons

There is always a need for more quality DSP's. The days can sometimes be long but the good out weighs the bad

    Advice to Management

Continue to require the highest standard of care for the clients.
