False promises and lack of communication.
Sep 10, 2012 - Anonymous EmployeeRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Employees are kind and team-oriented. Some positions pay above average salaries. Nice building and offices.
Cons
Most employees are not recognized for their work and have little guidance. There's a negative atmosphere where confusion runs rampant. Leaders don't communicate, promise change with lots of talk and no action. Benefits are average at best, and few advancement opportunies.

Good for a temporary stop before you find something better.

Good if you decide to move to another state . you can just transfer (maybe)
Cons
Stagnant pay.. No Salary increases for years. Yet inflation doesn't stop effectively making salary less and less each year. No actually opportunity for advancement. Regional Management has no ideas or any strategy, they just ask for more. Upper Management gets hired from outside. Does not matter how hard you work or how well you do, you get nothing. High deductibles on insurance. (worst plan possible) minimum PTO time for workers and when you are ready to take it you might not get approved. Company culture is not there and you can tell the employees are not happy. Just a job until you can find a better one.

Pros
Empire has creating training structures to help students be successful, their educational system is built with the student in mind. I think that the benefits are about average. I think that each school is different, if you have a supportive staff at your campus you'll enjoy working here as a career starter to gain experience
Cons
Make sure that your salary is what you want it to be as Empire has not given even a cost of living raise to employees in over six years. The leadership team is constantly changing, the CEO's wife gets 'promotions' every few months, which are still being announced with excitement while the campus staff is low paid or laid off. I think that the CEO is very disconnected from the campuses. He spends time at the nice, new campuses while other campuses are quite literally falling apart.

Worst Job I Ever Had. You have been WARNED

The salary was great, but that's just about it
Cons
No formal training all on the job no support quit to point out mistakes and fire although they did not train you correctly

Pay is subpar and benefits are not great
Feb 1, 2021 - Anonymous Employee in Pottsville, PARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Work from home, co-workers are the best part, being able to control how your job is done, and tools available are nice.
Cons
Pay is subpar for work done, and benefits get worse each year. Paid time off is not carried along each year so you must use it or loose it. Along with that there is no yearly salary increase to compensate for inflation.

Overall, very reasonable and stress-free
May 17, 2021 - Cosmetology InstructorRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Reasonable expectations – both work wise and personally. Stress-free environment – you’re hired on to do what you know and nothing more. Competitive salary – fair pay for the industry. Nice students and coworkers – just a lot of positive energy all day long.
Cons
I can’t really think of any. I’ve enjoyed the last two years at EEG.

Stagnant company. No room for growth, neither income nor professional development
Oct 1, 2019 - AdmissionsRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Good when you start.
Cons
Once here you realized this is it. No growth or opportunities within the company unless you stay for 10+ years and someone above you retires. VP micromanages too much. And your salary never increases from when you start.

Pros
* leaders are experienced, educated and know what they are doing * one of the highest base salaries for entry level sales * great compensation * everyone has a say in their own role and what’s expected of them * amazing location * probably one of the best sales training program around, I felt immediately prepared to tackle my role
Cons
* no 401k plan for full-time employees * they promote from within but there never seems to be any openings
