Disapproves of CEO

Pros

fast pace-
company is growing in parts of the U.S. & internationally
never a dull moment
meeting interesting people
training program for entry level people is very good

Cons

poor communication from corporate to field- inaccurate or incomplete information dumps out via emails causing constant fire drills to clarify issues.
departments do not work together - too many silos.
freeze on merit increases and 401K
too many meetings and conference calls that are redundant
internal jobs aren't posted for current employees to apply for.
very little emphasis on diversity- this is an "old boys club" mentality
constant turnover - due to below average wages, mediocre benefits. Field mgt is constantly recruiting and hiring due to turnover.

Advice to Management

spend more time in the field - especially since the all of the re-organizations that have been implemented the past year.
Average employee is very disatisfied, and most talented people are job searching due to low morale
and the belief that the company doesn't listen or care about them.

    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

it is what u make of it! interaction with customers make the day it. also depends on your stores location.

    Cons

franchise system watering down brand image. out of control franchise system stores less than a mile apart can have huge shopping experience differences in cleanliness customer service and pricing of merchandise. market managers seem withdrawn from the problems or don't care most franchises lack the standard business know how and only receive a 4 week training class .

    Advice to Management

a more rigorous selection and training program for new franchisees the standard business consultant tasked to visit a store weekly can only make suggestions of which most fall on deaf ears.

    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

Flexible hours. Great co-workers. Opportunities to advance within the company. HR department and other managers seem to care about employee opinions.

    Cons

Retail... Redundant and non-challenging work. Great if seeking a low stress position or are pursuing additional education on a part-time basis or as a first job out of college. Not a great job if already completed with education and possessing previous work experience and seeking a role with the opportunity to expand professional skills.

    Advice to Management

In order to develop engaged and loyal employees, do a better job at gauging the work needs of employees and matching those needs and ambitions to the job.
