Pros

Friendly co-workers and management, easy tasks, good communication

Cons

Pay increases annually and by only a small amount, hardly any hours because so many associates, dealing with small children in the store is always a hassle

Advice to Management

Award those who show initiative consistently with more hours or higher pay

    Pros

    The people are the only reason you want to stay. The staff is great and make your time worthwhile.

    Cons

    For the work you have to do, the pay isn't worth it. And you're always under appreciated. It's not very motivating.

    I worked at Aéropostale full-time

    Pros

    It's an extremely easy job if you're looking for a standard 9-5 role where you learn little to nothing as everything that is done hasn't been innovative or up to date since 1981.

    Cons

    The pro is in a sense a con as well. Aeropostale lacks an innovative mindset and are trapped in the old ways of doing things in every aspect possible. For a company that is trying to attract younger individuals as consumers, they are absolutely unable to operate their own business operations in the 21st century. Everything done is extremely archaic, inefficient, and quite honestly a waste of money and resources. They need to re-align all their resources from being administrative burdens to strategic resources and that can't be done as long as their management remains as close minded as they are.

    Advice to Management

    Get rid of your middle management (and possibly a level above that). They have no idea what they are doing and they create a political and bureaucratic environment that is absolutely unnecessary. Re-evaluate your business processes and be open to new ideas and changing times.
