Recommends

I worked at AAA Colorado full-time (Less than a year)

Pros

promoted quickly
excellent training
friendly coworkers
customer interaction
variety of positions in office - general member assistance, travel product sales, insurance, travel packages, car sales

Cons

All training was done at the headquarter office in Denver, CO no matter what your home office was. Driving from Boulder, CO to Denver, CO wasn't that bad as long as it wasn't snowing/sleeting and they did cover mileage.
6 Day work weeks and the shifts on Saturday were only a half day, so it interrupted weekend travel plans for only a few hours of work.

I have been working at AAA Colorado full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The people are friendly and have replaced a lot of management to move into the 21st Century.

    Cons

No growth potential. Horrible schedule. Very low wages. Behind in technology and work policies. Not flexible at all.

    Advice to Management

Open your eyes. You're losing good people because your benefits, perks, salaries and work schedules are way behind the times.

I worked at AAA Colorado full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Dedicated staff striving to provide quality service to members.

    Cons

Very low morale. Five new VPs within the past year that do not understand or respect established culture. Employees caught in middle of turf wars between VPs seeking to establish a culture they brought from their prior job. Directors that are busy empire building and self promoting while failing to earn staff trust and respect . Displays of favoritism and retaliation along with unprofessional drama. Mediocre training and lacking in current technology in some business areas. Top heavy senior management with seven VPs, multiple directors and managers. All that senior management for a company with less than 300 employees. Average to mediocre benefit package.

    Advice to Management

Learn and enforce established policies and procedures uniformly and without favoritism or as a tool for retaliation. Decide on an over arching corporate culture and work together to develop that culture. Invest in staff training, pay more competitive salaries with improved benefits and provide promotional opportunities.
