I have been working at ACCO Brands as an intern

Pros

Good pay for an intern position. Good work experience. Good experience working with all functions of the business.

Cons

Some interns are treated like kings within their departments while others receive hefty workloads with little time to spare. Such is life. All depends on the department you work in.

Advice to Management

Try to set a precedent or standard for all managers to adhere to. Some interns are offered free lunch every day and receive spontaneous gifts from managers. Some have little-to-no contact with managers in a given day. CEO seems to be on shaky ground at times and is ambiguous on the future of the company. Turns interns off to the idea of applying full-time.

I worked at ACCO Brands full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good people to work with in the ranks.

    Cons

No strategy, no planning, no budgets, no resources. Employees are seen as little more than expenses to cut in order to achieve quarterly financial results.

    Advice to Management

Be more concerned with what customers and employees think than with what Wall St. analysts think.
