Pros

The mission is sound and many of the staff worldwide are dedicated to the cause!

Cons

Leadership at the international office are political appointments by the affiliate church operation and are not qualified to lead.

Advice to Management

Hire experts and let them lead.

    Pros

    The staff are passionate about the mission, there's great opportunity to take on responsibility early in your career and acquire a broad range of experience in a short time. Global network means that there's a lot of opportunity to experience international development in a number of different contexts. Flexi-time and teleworking offers considerable flexibility.

    Cons

    Lack of leadership is the root cause of most of the organization's problems, which manifest themselves as lack of strategic direction, low staff morale, declining revenue of government funding, declining reputation among peer organizations.

    Advice to Management

    Advice to the board would be to make a serious effort to understand the nature of the business ADRA is engaged in, and appoint senior management staff that are capable of of being successful in those roles.
