I have been working at AECOM full-time (More than 10 years)

Pros

Good people, variery of interesting projects, health benefits are very good, access to a wide variety of design codes and specifications

Cons

Bloated beurocracy with many vice presidents, new initiatives / policies are constantly being rolled out, company does everything it can to save $ (eliminates secretaries, pushes employees into small office spaces with no privacy, makes it near impossible to attend conferences to meet PDH requirements, etc etc.), raises are mediocre despite numerous emails stating how well the company is doing, I could go on.....

Advice to Management

Don't keep saying that you care about morale and retaining top talent while continuing on with policies stated above.

I have been working at AECOM full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Absolutely none. Management does not care at all.

    Cons

Just hope that the company you work for does not get swallowed up by AECOM.

    Advice to Management

You are all liars and do not care about anyone. You obtain new companies and tell them that nothing will change and then you randomly ruin lives. There is absolutely no security once you become part of AECOM.

I worked at AECOM part-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The AECOM Sacramento office has some of the best people to work with. Although I no longer work for AECOM, I keep in touch with several former co-workers. Historically there were lots of ways to get involved within the office including a mentor program, happy hours, and organized lunches (not company sponsored, but a nice way to get to know co-workers).

    Cons

Work-life balance can be an issues at times, particularly since the economic downturn. While core values list employees as an important asset, this is often lacking in day to day operations both in the Sacramento office and from the corporate level.

    Advice to Management

Consult the people on the front lines when implementing change. What works for one segment of the business may not work for all segments.
