Pros

Nice coworkers. Sometimes nosey. Don't share anything with anyone, unless you are comfortable with it getting to your boss...

Cons

Micro managers all over the place in middle management. They don't do any work, and they breath down your neck to see what you are doing and when you are going to get it done.

This place use to be very easy going. 40 hour weeks always, and work from home on Fridays sometimes. Man have the times changed... This place is

Advice to Management

Cut middle management (many directors) out. They are not needed... Save cash and a lot of manager and staff headache, and regret for working here.

I have been working at AGL Resources full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

It's a job with a pay check and benefits. _Some_ of the people here are very nice. Their headquarters is in a good location with ample parking next to the building as well as being close to a Marta station.

    Cons

Mgmt seems to hold bootlickers in higher esteem than doing a good job. Diversity is "off the hook" here. If you are not a minority or woman you will for the most part ignored for advancement/mentoring/opportunities. Mgmt seems to look for the spineless people to put in important roles. Alcoholism seemed to me to be rampant among mgmt I deal with. Benefits are expensive and very average.

    Advice to Management

Try to run the business like everyone doesn't drive a gas truck. Try to remember that not everyone in your company is a minority or woman. Try to foster leadership skills and advancement in some people within your company that aren't part of the bootlicker cast.

    Cons

One slip and you are gone. They are now one strike and you are done. It like next please. The field employees have cameras in the trucks. They are constantly get on you about setting the camera off " Deversity is over board!

    Advice to Management

A liitle common sence goes along way. It is not one size fits all.
