Positive Outlook
No opinion of CEO

I have been working at ALDI full-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

Days fly by, even when they are 12-16 hour days.
All major holidays off, although not all paid.
Your 1040 looks nice, until you divide your pay by actual hours worked.

Cons

AS A STORE MANAGER
Unrealistic expectations
Minimal staffing
Extremely physical and demanding
A thankless job

Advice to Management

District manager, let the Store Manager BE the Store Manager. Stop micro managing and maybe throw in a compliment every few months or so. If sales, productivity and store conditions are great, don't stop me from doing my work to point out a dust bunny behind some shelving.

I worked at ALDI as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Amazingly run company, many opportunities for advancement. They hire from within and reward loyalty.

    Cons

Everyone is vying for the same positions and can be very competitive/cold to newcomers.

    Advice to Management

Pick better mentors for your new hires.

I worked at ALDI full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Pay & Benefits are second to none

    Cons

Everyone is expected to do everything, from stocking to cashiering... wouldn't be bad, but this is a high paced environment. Upper level management does not communicate effectively with employees. Management does not usually promote District Managers from within. They prefer to hire anyone with a bachelor's degree - no experience necessary. This makes it hard because they don't know ANYTHING about procedure and often come in and try to change EVERYTHING!

    Advice to Management

PLEASE let the left hand know what the right hand is doing. It will save aggravation and frustration. Allow more internal hiring for District Managers.
