I have been working at ALM full-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

It's a friendly atmosphere. Most people here get along. Everyone is helpful. There's a fair amount of vacation time built into the schedule which helps create a good work/life balance.

Cons

Dead end job. No advancement. The job that you interview for will most likely be the job you have as long as you are here. If your direct supervisor were to leave, it's more likely that he/she will be replaced by someone from outside the company rather than promoted from within.

I worked at ALM full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Its a job, that's one pro.

    Cons

Old boys club mentality brings down other employees who may not fit into the 'club'. Some employees are slaved into the ground others skate by doing the minimum. If you tour the offices you may catch one or two literally sleeping at the desks. Upper management is too lazy to get their hands dirty and overwork lower ranked managers and support staff. Overinflated egos and politics rule the day at ALM. There are a sprinkle of decent people most are just drones who barely say good morning or crack a smile. Not a place for a overwork looking to get ahead thru hard work alone. Your hard work, suggestions and visionary efforts will not be recognized . You will not be trained yet expected to function as if you were -At the first error all hell breaks loose and you will be lambasted.

    Advice to Management

Respect and reward hard workers. Modernize workflow and processes. Force upper management to interact with team members to see what is really going on. Do not look for ways to take advantage of staff. Assess overpaid staff members, lighten up the office with games, events, giveaways. Meals for departments who work late.

    Cons

They have high expectatiosn and they are trying to accomplish a lot so the pace can be demanding.
