I worked at AMC Entertainment part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Some of the costumers. I have nothing but negative things to say about this company.

    Cons

Some employees, definitely the managers, the disgusting ways they handle food, and they promote hassling costumers to buy the crappy AMC Stubs.

    Advice to Management

    F you.

I worked at AMC Entertainment part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    - Great entry level job for a teenager
    - Free movies & discounts
    - Improves customer service and team building skills
    - Teaches you how to work quickly & efficiently under pressure
    - Opportunities to move up quickly

I worked at AMC Entertainment for five years...it was my first job. I started working when I was 16 and left when I was 21. I spent 3 years as an entry level film crew and the next 2 as a Supervisor. I had a great time doing both when I was living at home with my parents support, it was a lot of fun going to the movies for free and I made a lot of professional relationships and friendships while there. I also learned how to deal with upset customers in a professional manner while keeping my cool. This is something that sticks with me even at my office job now.

    Cons

    - Very low pay, if you're looking to feed your family or a career then look elsewhere
    - Very long hours. They require you to be available anytime on weekends and at least 2 - 3 nights a week.
    - Gets very busy during peak hours. To the point where it's very chaotic.

The movie theater business is dying. While I worked at AMC, Corporate was very concerned about the future because every year the numbers were looking worse and worse compared to the previous. Ticket & food prices go up by about $0.25 or $0.50 twice a year as well which isn't good. I'm happy I got out there.

    Advice to Management

Increase your current wages by at least $2.00 extra per hour then your workers would probably be a lot more happier. I'm just preaching to the choir though...more than likely they don't care enough to do it even if they read this.
