I worked at AMETEK full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Good people to work with (At least in the production side). Great benefits (at least 1 exception) for single people. Opportunity to interact with various cultures and learn multi-national business internally.

Cons

Frustrating mid and top level management. Often contradictory to each other to subordinates. Benefits seemed great, except tuition reimbursement (contractual requirements and ability of manager to override reimbursement for courses not deemed to influence your daily duties (MBA programs include multitude of functions, not all align with current role within company).
Subordinates looked at as pawns, and a very top-heavy company seems to refuse to acknowledge support structure needed.

Advice to Management

Reduce number of managers at all levels (you don't need a manager to supervise one person). Filter managerial prospects better to have those with ability to lead as managers (micromanagers tend to demean people). Evaluate internal candidates for growth potential, internal growth does not seem likely.

I have been working at AMETEK full-time

    Pros

In some BU people are enjoying because of less work pressure.

    Cons

Top management people are good for nothing. Some managers used to think to get the work done how much more they can do from developers. Because they are giving salary. No career growth.

There will be no official mail reply if you raise any concerns. Such things will be infromed verbal ly. If you raise the concern no. of times then, you will be considered as negaive attitude person.

I have been working at AMETEK full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great people to work with, cell leaders are excellent and couldn't help their teams enough.
Pay is pretty decent if u can climb the small ladder that there is and if your face fits. Company has good pension schemes and rewards for no sickness. And if ur lucky maybe even a Christmas voucher. Overall it can be a lovely place to work.

    Cons

If your face don't fit you won't go anywhere. Can be ignored by management at times. Customer support can be tricky to get along with at times. Sometimes feels like management only care about the figures on the spreadsheet at the end of the month.

    Advice to Management

Listen to staff and pay good staff what they deserve.
