I worked at AMR International full-time

    Pros

  2. "Shrinking workforce"

I worked at AMR International full-time

    Pros

    - Modern office in good location
    - Social and casual work environment (e.g. foosball table, no ties worn)
    - (Most) junior consultants given responsibility, exposure to management and clients
    - Most projects are challenging and offer learning opportunities for consultants early in their career

    Cons

    - Dramatic decline in size of consultant workforce and loss of talent to competitors. So, much sector knowledge and expertise has left the company
    - Small workforce leads to under-resourced projects and regular long hours
    - Heavy loss of Directors has left obvious gaps in leadership and a drying-up project pipeline
    - Too dependent on a shrinking pool of Events clients and CDD projects
    - Consultants paid below industry benchmark at every level
    - Limited learning opportunities for Senior Consultants and PMs (e.g. lack of sales training)
    - Inconsistent quality of Project Managers
    - Overstretched support staff

    Advice to Management

    - Pursue new, non-Events clients aggressively
    - Match salary to competitors
    - Ensure new senior recruits actually have a strategy background
