I have been working at AOL full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The culture at AOL is very good, especially in certain groups (Advertising Sales is a good example). Tim Armstrong sets a wonderful tone for the entire company -- smart, human, and works very hard. Most importantly, he genuinely cares, and this is very evident on a daily basis.

    Cons

AOL is a demanding place, which is good in some respects but also takes a personal toll.

    Advice to Management

Get out of the boardroom, talk to the people who matter. Listen to the A-students who are great at what they do, and provide constructive help. Spend less time with the C-students, who are average at what they do, and focus on complaining rather than solving things.
