I worked at ARRB full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Limited flexibility, travel and varied work tasks. Technology is good but training is lacking and no one wants to make a decision with client needs

    Cons

Lack of support, long term staff get overlooked when it comes to compliance which creates double standards. Department managers ignore it.

    Advice to Management

Ensure support staff and managers are accountable

I have been working at ARRB full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Its great to work with enquiring minds. The people are generally friendly and helpful. Work can be very interesting, but (as you would expect in a research organisation) you need to have a head for your subject area, patience with the process, conscientiousness and ability to handle and learn from criticism. There is support for further study (if you pursue it).

    Cons

Slow career progression compared with a consultancy or engineering firm. Projects can be very long and progress very slowly.
