I have been working at AT&T full-time (More than a year)

Pros

*True entry-level position in technical support
*It's a good resume builder
*Training staff is (mostly) good
*Middle management can be great

Cons

*Lack of consistency in quality of management
*It's easy for "entry-level" to become "dead end"
*Benefits and wages could be better for the stressful and frequently difficult work environment
*Scheduling flexibility is a joke- unless you have seniority, it's difficult to get a schedule that doesn't involve working early, late or on weekends
*Budget cuts have changed the work environment; incentives & perks in the workplace have been mostly removed (such as coffee in the kitchens)
*Constant upheaval and reorganization makes it difficult for workers to be proficient in their jobs

Advice to Management

You're always trying to identify how to improve the customer experience. In order to have happy customers you need to have happy employees. People who enjoy their jobs and are happy to come to work will make that extra effort that you're constantly seeking from your customer-facing service employees.

    I have been working at AT&T full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    The pay and benefits, people interaction as well. Plenty of hours, goes with retail environment and availability to customers.

    Cons

    Health deteriorates with stress and standing long hours. Lack of respect and integrity from management due to unskilled leaders. It can get depressing if you value life for much more than accommodating to At&t.

    Advice to Management

    As a genuine employee experience site, willingness to recommend is rated below 59% beginning with the At&t CEO. The big picture would be to raise these scores as a means to reflect on the customers experience with these employees.

    I have been working at AT&T full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Free new phone every year, concession pricing for all other AT&T related products. Great Team environment. Company focused on TQM, and especially customer service. Great for College students or young adults.

    Cons

    Retail hours, long period of standing time. Required lots of patience due to high degree of customer contacts.

    Advice to Management

    Managers will be managers; no advice here. I understand what you guys have to do.
